What I am reading at the moment …

It is now getting wet, cold and dark outside and it is time to have a good look at my TBR pile. I have only read one Christmas book so far but there is still a few weeks to go. Any suggestions are welcome for positive, light but not silly, great Christmas books that smell of cinnamon, hot chocolate and Christmas tree and, of course, end well. I don’t have a kids category on my blog but every now and then, I do review kids books when I came across a nice one. And my grandson and I read quite a good one last week end, It is called Santa’s Lost Elves by Rachel Hilz. It was a lovely read with beautiful illustrations. We both enjoyed it.

At the moment, I am reading The Wonder of it All by Barbara Taylor Bradford, the third book of the Falconer series. I am enjoying it and will tell you more later this week. Also enjoying a Thai cookbook and I will tell you more about it in a couple of days. I have a few French book reviews coming up too.

I have also just ordered the new book by Chade-Meng Tan, Buddhism For All. I have read his previous books and gifted them to some of my friends and family. I am very much looking forward to reading this one and get some spiritual inspiration.

Over Christmas, I plan to read the last book of the Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley. It was so sad to loose Lucinda and it was such a blessing that her son could write the last story based on what he had discussed with her. I have delayed the time when I would read it because it is the last volume and there will not be anymore. But the time has come to enjoy it so I think that’s my plan then.

As you can see, I am a bit scattered at the moment, buzzing in all directions. There is so much great stuff to read and talk about. To add to the chaos, I decided to experiment with Instagram now so Valerie is Reading is now on Instagram. But with all my translation projects taking much of my time as well, it remains very much a work in progress.

Hope you also enjoy some good reads at the moment. Please reach out of you have nice suggestions.
