The Hotel on the Riviera (Carol Kirkwood)

I enjoyed Carol’s first book and it is nice to meet its characters again in this new escapist sequel. This one is set is Cannes, around the film festival, and through many twists and turns we discover what happened so many years ago between the Theodosis and the Du Lac families and how the consequences still change their lives so deeply around the Hotel du Soleil, the true central character of the book. It is Cannes and its glitzy life during the festival, the rich and famous, the beautiful settings, the atmosphere of the Côte d’Azur and even a short trip to the Greek island of Ithos. Problems always seem to solve themselves and there is a lot of energy and positivity in the characters. A very pleasant and relaxing summer read.
